this made me sick when i read it!
it's from the awake july 8/05, the second response.. "my husband and i have tried to have children since shortly after our wedding.
now, years later, we are faced with the issues described in this series.

"My husband and I have tried to have children since shortly after our wedding. Now, years later, we are faced with the issues described in this series. It is truly uplifing to know that Jehovah provides food at the proper time. It was-and is-very hard to be told that you cannot have a child. But through research and through this article, I have been helped to draw comfort from the fact that we are not alone. We count it a true blessing that we can devote our time to serving Jehovah fully."
I have to wonder if they could have a child if they went through IVF. It's so sad when peoples lives are dictated to by a controlling cult!

i was cleaning out a closet today and came across some book bags.
when i went through them i found one of those bic pens that has the four different colours of ink, red, black, green and blue.
i used to use them to mark my wt different colours for the a and b portion of the answers etc.. anyone else use these?.

P.S. The last mag in my hubby's case was from 1998, I can't believe it's been that long since he's used it! I need to clean the back of my closets more often!
i don't.
it reminds me every day of what i was was and not what i can enjoy.
Yes, I still do.
There are very few that know I was raised a JW, mostly very close friends. Generally, I don't like to bring up the past.

this is my first time on this web site.
i learned about it from my mom who also posts here.
i used to be a jw but was (thankfully) never baptized, and because of that (the fact that i am no longer a jw) it has kept me from talking to my grandmothers, some of my uncles, and my aunts and also some of my cousins.

how did you feel?
what was your situaltion with the jw's?.
personally i had left by daing myself 2 and a half years ago.
I actually found this site over three years ago.
I was inactive for a long time, but was going through some personal termoil. I knew there were things wrong in the org but didn't know what. I wasn't sure where I wanted to go with my life - return to the KH or stay away.
I typed in those two words "Jehovah's Witnesses". This was one of the first sites I came across, but wasn't ready for this yet. I did bookmark it and came back to read regularly, but never joined. I did join another site, not exactly pro JW, and not exactly ex JW, it was a good balance for me, and I got most of my questions, anger and frustrations worked out.
I figured I was a lurker here long enough so decided to join.

every once in a while, i'll drive thru the blocks of our old territory, remebering the friends, how we would share time in the ministry.
reminiscing about those i left.
every so often, i'll pull out the old photographs.
I miss the friends I thought I had...and I miss the people I thought they were.DB74
I feel the same way you do DB. But, I have come to realize that true friendship doesn't mean belonging to the same religous group. It's sometimes been hard to make new friends. I have less "friends" now, but the ones I do have are true friends, there for me no matter what. I don't miss going to the KH, but I do sometimes miss worshipping with others (but I have also realized that many at the KH aren't really worshipping either). I have attended a church every once in a while, but I don't think I could ever officially join. Some of the KH's I attended were really good about having get togethers, pot lucks, corn roasts, dances, card games, bbq's etc. I miss that sometimes, but now I have more time to spend with my non JW family (which is large) and now I do that with them. i have always wondered why the jw's don't have a playroom/area or offer kids activities during the meetings.
i would imagine it's been brought to the societys attention at some point.
it just makes so much sense to offer a place where kids and go and play, where they can be read to, have them sing, color pages on bible related stories etc..... .
It's sad that there are not more activities for children at the KH.
My friends children actually look forward to going to church, and don't have to be dragged out of bed and forced to go, because of the activities at the church.
I always hated to go to the meetings, it was sooooo hard to sit still and pay attention, enough to make a comment to my parents after the meeting to see what I learned.
